He says he believes the society is changing very quickly, and he says that the people there have a tremendous amount
of hope and confidence that didn't exist there ten years ago. As a society he thinks they have started down a one-way
street, in that they have to give people more education, technology and a free market. He thinks those things will
drive freedom of speech.
He asks all the time if he is helping a good or bad regime and that he doesn't always believe in, and that they have
that issue in Germany too.
He believes that by being there and providing infrastructure that they are going to have a positive influence. He says
that is what he is investing in, creating a dialogue now.

(Page 1)2. Regime in Germany? Did Jerry die and wake up in 1943? Honestly, I would really like to know what he may have meant by that statement.

5. Democracy is Good. But fast changing democracy without strategy is a fool. Like Russia changing to sudden change to democracy does no good for the country. Is US uphold the human right law in 1960 against the black people? Absolutely not.
Now the same things as in China, it will take time to progress to democracy.

7. How can you not agree with a democratically elected country. Germany is very different to China because it's a democracy where human rights are freely upheld.

13. Yes it will take time to progress to democracy in China and this government is doing a great job in most aspects. Most of complains are from people either have no idea about China or have their own political motivation.
No offence, but I was amazed that so many people feel so strong about human rights and regime in China yet they don't even speak or read Chinese. They believe what they are told by the media and government (speaking of brainwash). By the way, Jerry Yang is from Taiwan, does a person’s success in business make his political opinion more valuable? I suppose George Bush is also successful in family business.
