It's a quiet launch, and that might be the best way to enter the unrewarding blog-search space. Yahoo! has quietly added blog results to its Yahoo! News search engine, and you can get rid of the blog results. The results don't seem to have great range—that might also be for the better. the problem with dedicated, comprehensive engines (insofar as any blog engine can be comprehensive) is that people expect them to obtain high-quality results, but receive a lot of crap. It's the nature of the blogosphere, and nobody has figured out how to cut through it with blazing success. So Yahoo! is dipping its toe into the water, trying mainly to enrich and improve news searching, only if the user wants it.
