Yahoo! teams are releasing like crazy this week - Yahoo! Music Engine, new Yahoo page, and now
Yahoo! Mail Beta.A new build was released today - Version 0.3.0 Build 196.4.
As we've come to expect, the Yahoo Mail team did this quietly and there are no updates to the Y! Mail Beta blog (c'mon folks - your last post was Dec 15th). This looks to be a minor release - the version number hasn't changed for a while now.
If you are on beta and want to check your build number, just open the Page Source in your browser and scroll to the bottom.
We've seen the beta take a few days to percolate across the multiple servers that are part of the beta - I can confirm that us.f318.mail.yahoo.com is one with the new code.
Beta testers are already scouring the build to see what's new - I'll post again once we figure out the changes.
[Update - 2/7/05 11.55p]
OK - here are the things we see so far...
- DomainKey verification icon in Message Header
- Y! Messenger presence in Message Header
- Show Images Button in full Message view tab (if you are blocking images in Mail Options)
- Send Feedback link placed on the Help menu

1. Seriously, what do the rest of us have to do to get in on this beta! It's driving me nuts. I got on the list in like November and nothing! Even a tenative release date would be welcome so that I can stop eagle eyeing my mail page in the hopes of seeing the elusive notice that I've been included.
Or I could get a life. That, however, seems cumbersome and unlikely.
