Last October it was announced that Microsoft and Yahoo! would enable their messenger programs, Yahoo! Messenger and MSN Messenger, to connect with each other. Historically, users of one brand messenger program (MSN, Yahoo!, AOL, etc.) have been unable to chat with users of another. It was estimated this interoperability would be made available during 2Q06.
We're in the middle of 2Q06 and there's
no only this inkling of anything happening
from the outside looking in. The teaser about this which was on the Yahoo! Messenger page for months has come down to
make room for all the info about the new Voice Services. Without that,
there's no visible indication of this coming. Can someone in the know provide an update?
